AuD... What does that mean?

The elephant in the room: What does it mean when someone has Au.D. behind their name? Well, "Au.D." is the professional acronym for "Doctor of Audiology." Here at Space City Audiology (SCA), our audiologist received her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders, then continued on to completed a rigorous 4 years of graduate school for audiology. The final year of graduate school involved a year long internship. An individual who holds an AuD is your number one source for hearing health and hearing treatment solutions.

A doctor of audiology, AKA an audiologist, is more than a hearing instrument specialist. Here at SCA, we care about more than simply selling hearing aids and sending you on your way. This all starts with our comprehensive hearing testing. We will not simply test which tone you can or cannot hear. We will assess your entire auditory system including your outer, middle, and inner ear. Our audiologist will put her many years of training and experience into practice to customize each hearing treatment plan just for you. We are all unique. What works for someone else may not work for you. Whatever the case may be, we are here to listen and here to help you live better, through your ears.

Give us a call today (281-809-6008) to get scheduled for a comprehensive hearing evaluation and an opportunity to talk with our AuD about your hearing treatment options.
